By Siméon IsakoThe Congolese Association for Access to Justice (ACAJ) welcomes the launch by the Congolese army of large-scale operations against rebel groups that terrorize the Beni Butembo regions of North Kivu.
“Go FARDC until you neutralize these terrorists who mourn the DRC every day. Please ensure, however, that the elements engaged at the front do not engage in human rights violations,” said Georges Kapiamba, President of the ACAJ, on his Twitter account.
These operations were one of President Tshisekedi’s promises to the people of Beni when he visited the region in early October. According to the army, they will be carried out without the support of the armies of the sub-region. It should be recalled that the insecurity in Beni and Butembo caused by the activism of ADF elements has claimed several victims since 2014
